Here's another one. It's just African talking drum, piano (recorded three times: Bass, chords, melody) and humming (2 times).

All The Good Times
Here's a traditional bluegrass song called "All the Good Times are Past and Gone". I arranged it for cardboard box, maraca, synth (for bass), acoustic guitar on two tracks, one for the chords and one for the melody.

Another bluegrass mp3
This one is called "Little Log Cabin in the Lane" and it's by William Shakespeare Hayes. I used the same instrumentation as "I'll be all Smiles Tonight".

My Bluegrass MP3
So far I've recorded three bluegrass songs for my upcoming CD--a collection of old bluegrass melodies. They're instrumentals only--no singing, at least not yet. Here's an mp3 of my own little rendition of "I'll be all smiles tonight" by T.B. Ranson. It's percussion, synth bass, concert ukulele and old upright piano.

Recorded instrumental "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight"
Yesterday I made a recording of "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight" by T.B. Ranson. It went pretty well. I used the home-made mic my brother Karl made for me for Christmas one year (which sounds incredible) and the Mackie 1202 mixer. Then, the signal went into my Macbook (laptop). I used Audacity software and i can't complain. I laid down a simple percussion track tapping lightly on the back of my old acoustic guitar (since my jembe is still out of commission). Then I used the old CZ-1000 phase distortion synth to lay down a simple bass line. Then I played the chords rhythmically on my concert ukulele. Finally I played the melody with some harmony notes (using only the right hand) on my old upright piano. I actually did two piano tracks because the first one came out a little too low-level. So I have two identical piano tracks and it gives the already out-of-tune piano sound an eerie sort looming quality that I really like. Anyway, that's all for now. It's pretty fun and so far so good. I'd better get started on the next track. Now that I know how I'm going to approach each track, the process should go a bit more quickly.
